What Do You Need to Rent a Lamborghini in Dubai?
The short answer: the checklist
Here is everything we need from you before we hand over the keys. No hidden steps, no surprises at pickup:
- Age 25 or older. Most of our fleet requires it — more on that below.
- A valid driving licence. Tourists: your home-country licence plus an International Driving Permit. Residents: a valid UAE driving licence and Emirates ID.
- Your passport (tourists) or Emirates ID (residents) — just for identification.
- A credit card for the refundable security deposit. No credit card? Message us — we will usually work something out.
- Your dates and the car you want. That is genuinely it.
Now the details, because the details are where other companies lose people.
The licence question (for tourists)
This is the one most visitors get wrong. Dubai traffic police are clear: as a tourist, you need your passport, your home-country driving licence, and an International Driving Permit (IDP) that covers the class of vehicle you are renting.
Some countries have bilateral agreements with the UAE — if you hold a licence from one of them, your home licence may be enough without an IDP. The list changes, so do not rely on a blog from 2019. When you message us on WhatsApp, tell us which country issued your licence and we will check for you. We would rather confirm it now than find out at the hotel lobby when the car is already waiting.
Get the IDP before you fly. It is cheap, takes a day or two in most countries, and saves a lot of stress. If you land at DXB without one, your options shrink fast — and we will tell you that honestly rather than take your booking and hope.
For UAE residents
Simpler. You need a valid UAE driving licence and your Emirates ID. If your licence recently expired or is under renewal, sort that first — we cannot rent to you on an expired licence, no matter how long you have been driving here. Same rule applies to us as to everyone else.
The age rule
Drivers must be at least 25 for most of our fleet. This is not our invention — it comes from the insurance. A Lamborghini at 500+ horsepower is not something an insurer will cover for a 22-year-old, and no honest company in Dubai will pretend otherwise. If you are under 25, message us anyway: a few cars have different terms, and we will tell you straight which ones you can drive instead of wasting your time.
The deposit and the credit card
Every serious rental company in Dubai takes a refundable security deposit. Ours varies by car and season — a Huracan costs less to secure than an Aventador SVJ — and it is released after the car comes back and passes inspection.
A credit card is the simplest way to handle it. The amount is held, not charged, and released afterwards. If you do not have a credit card, talk to us before you assume you cannot book: for longer rentals or repeat customers we sometimes arrange alternatives. What we will never do is surprise you with the deposit number at pickup. You get it in writing on WhatsApp before you pay anything — along with the daily rate, the mileage allowance, and the insurance excess.
What we check on WhatsApp before confirming
This is the part most companies skip explaining, and it is the reason our pickups go smoothly. When you message us with your dates, here is what happens:
- We confirm the car is actually available on your dates — not “probably”, not “we can arrange something”. The car, your dates.
- You send us photos of your documents — passport, licence, IDP or Emirates ID. We check them against the rules above. If something does not qualify, you find out now, not at 9pm at your hotel.
- We send the full quote in writing: daily rate, total, deposit amount, mileage allowance, and what is included. One message, every number. If anything is unclear, ask — that message is the whole point.
- You pay the deposit to lock your dates. The car is reserved for you and nobody else.
The whole exchange usually takes under an hour. We have done this enough times that we know exactly what to ask.
What happens at pickup
We deliver anywhere in Dubai — your hotel, your residence, or DXB airport — at the time we agreed. When the car arrives:
- We walk around it with you and note the existing condition. Photos, both of us. This protects you more than it protects us.
- You sign the rental agreement — the same numbers we already sent you on WhatsApp. If anything on the paper does not match the message, do not sign it. (It will match.)
- We run through the basics: fuel level, how to open everything, the one switch you will actually need. A Huracan has a few quirks; we will show you.
- You drive off. The tank is full, Salik is on, and the car is insured.
Most handovers take fifteen minutes. The Huracan Coupe is the one we hand over most often — it is the easiest Lamborghini to live with for a first-timer.
A few honest notes
Do not book with a company that will not name the deposit in writing. That is the single biggest red flag in this market. If the answer to “what is the deposit?” is “we will tell you later”, walk away — from us or anyone else.
Plan delivery timing around Dubai traffic. Sheikh Zayed Road at 6pm is not the moment for your first drive in a 600-horsepower car. We will happily deliver in the morning or late evening if that suits your first outing better.
The mileage allowance matters more than people think. Every rental includes a daily kilometre allowance. A day of cruising JBR, the Palm, and Downtown stays well inside it. A run to Abu Dhabi and back will not. Tell us your plans upfront — arranging extra kilometres beforehand costs far less than paying per kilometre afterwards.
More of these answers live on our FAQ page. And if you are still deciding whether the whole thing is worth it, our cost breakdown lays out the real numbers.
Ready? Pick your car from the fleet, send us your dates on WhatsApp at +971 56 709 2795 or through the booking form, and we will reply with the full quote in writing. If your documents do not qualify, we will tell you that too — before you spend a dirham.
